Curated & VerifiedVegetarianBisi Bele Bath
ಬಿಸಿ ಬೇಳೆ ಬಾತ್
The legendary one-pot rice and lentil dish of Old Mysore, spiced with a fragrant homemade bisi bele bath powder and finished with ghee.
The Story Behind This Recipe
This is the dish my grandmother would have simmering from 6 am during Sankranti in our Mysuru home. The aroma of the bisi bele bath powder toasting in the kitchen was the signal that a celebration was underway. The key is making your own powder — store-bought is never quite the same.
